Details

Manufacturers are required to establish a collection and recycling program for covered electronic devices. Landfill and incineration is prohibited. Registration with the Department of Natural Resources ($5,000 annual fee) is required. Target recycling goal is 80% of weight of covered electronic devices sold in three prior years. No fee for consumers and public schools. Covers TVs, desktop style printers, computers and monitors at least 7” in diameter.  Other devices eligible for manufacturer recycling credit include: computer peripherals, fax machines, digital video disc players, video cassette recorders and other electronic devices identified by DNR rule. Cell phones are not eligible.
