JANESVILLE, WI – One little letter, one big change. On January 4, 2010, industry-leading universal waste recycler CRT Processing, LLC officially became Universal Recycling Technologies, LLC (URT). The new name better represents the expanding company, which has added numerous services, product lines and locations since it was founded in 2003.
By 2009, CRT Processing, LLC had grown far beyond the cathode ray tube (CRT) computer monitor processing that first brought the company success. The name change comes on the heels of a rapid company expansion that has resulted in a sophisticated line of services and products able to meet virtually any recycling need for business customers and end-user consumers alike. Today, URT offers complete solutions for universal waste, e-waste, asset management, convenient pre-paid pack-and-ship recycling box programs, and even manufactures its own proprietary recycling equipment. With eight locations across the nation and the ability to manage complex recycling programs with ease, URT provides its customers with turnkey recycling solutions backed by exceptional customer service and attention.
In addition to its reputation as a comprehensive and attentive recycling service provider, URT has received accolades for its unfailing commitment to sustainable recycling practices. While the industry has been plagued by scandal in recent years1, URT has been consistently recognized for its commitment to exceeding compliance standards, including being qualified as the first “eSteward” glass processor in the U.S. by BAN (Basel Action Network), a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating toxic global environmental practices (www.ban.org).
“We wholeheartedly welcome Universal Recycling Technologies as a qualified e-Steward, and are happy to let the public know of another company with integrity that meets our pledge standard for globally responsible recycling.” Said Sarah Westervelt, e-Stewardship Director at the Basel Action Network (BAN) in Seattle.
“At URT, we guarantee responsible and ethical cradle-to-grave recycling. All end-of-life equipment is processed under our strict supervision—never exported offshore—providing our customers with absolute peace of mind and optimal service,” says Jim Cornwell, URT President. “We are proud to be a part of such a widespread, global effort to responsibly dispose of and reuse our resources. We feel fortunate to work with a forward-thinking group of customers with similar goals and look forward to continuing to grow to best serve them.”
